Tunisia, located in Northern Africa, is officially known as the Tunisian Republic. It agreed with the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) on 1990. Tunisia is also a member of World Trade Organization. Due to insufficient irrigation, agricultural production differs based on rainfall. Main crops include: olives, wheat, barley, tomatoes, citrus, sugar beets, dates, and almonds. More than half of the workers of the country are involved in farming. The growth in the extraction of natural gas has made it further self-reliant. The country's industrial productions include textiles, leather, steel and foods & beverages. |
